The Food Logger lets you track what you eat each day and compare your calories, protein, carbs, and fat to your daily goals.
Find the Logger from the Plan tab, tap the Meal Planner header at the top of the screen, then select Food Log.
Log a food
You can log foods from the USDA database as well as recipes from your Plan to Eat account, including friends’ recipes.
Open Food Log and select a day.
Tap Log Food, or tap + Log next to a specific mealtime.
Search for a food or recipe in the search bar. Use the Recent, USDA, and Recipes tabs to narrow your results.
To quick log a food, tap the + next to it. To adjust the details first, tap the food’s name. There you can choose the date, mealtime, amount, and unit, and see the nutrition information.
Tap the checkmark to log the food.

Set nutrition goals
Tap the pencil icon in the My Goals section, or open the three-dot menu in the upper right.

Tap the checkmark to save.
View your progress
The My Goals section shows how much you’ve logged compared to your calorie and macro goals. Tap All to see the whole day, or choose Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks to see a single mealtime.
Swipe through the carousel to see your goals represented as Calories by Meal and a Macro Split.
Your week at a glance
Below your goals, a chart shows your calories for each day of the week, with your daily target and your 7-day average marked on it.
Tap a day to review or log for that day. Tap the arrows or swipe to change weeks, and tap Today to jump back to the current day. Use the All, Cal, Protein, Carbs, and Fat tabs to focus on one nutrient. Days where you’ve gone over your calorie goal show in amber, along with how far over you are.
Sync your Planner
If you have recipes on your Planner that you need to add to the Food Log, you can log them without searching for each one.
Tap Sync Planner.
Review the recipes planned for that day and update the servings you actually ate. You’ll see how each recipe will change your daily macros.
Tap Log Recipe.
If nothing is planned for that day, Sync Planner lets you know.
Food Log vs. Nutrition on the Planner
Tracking nutritional data on your Planner shows the macros for the meals you’ve planned, while the Food Log tracks what you actually ate, including foods that aren’t in your recipes.
Use the Planner to display per-serving nutrition information for recipes in your meal plan and the Food Log to track your eating and compare to nutrition goals.
