You can add ingredients and notes to your planner by clicking on a day on your planner and adding it using the dialog popup.
Ingredients will look like other recipes on your planner, but they are distinguished by being bold. Ingredients will appear on both the calendar and your shopping list. This is useful for items that you may have daily like "Cereal" or “Oatmeal” and you want them to appear on your shopping list to make sure they are stocked.
Notes will only be added to the calendar, but not add anything to your shopping list. This is useful for special occasions that are irregular to your meal plan such as "Eating dinner at the Smith House" or “Leftovers”. These are events that you want to note in your menu plan, but don't alter your shopping list.
