Recipe Settings puts a recipe's options in one place: organizing it, controlling who sees it, adjusting how recipes display, and getting it ready to cook, plan, or share.

Accessing Recipe Settings

Open a recipe and tap the three-dot menu in the upper right.

Manage this recipe

  • Manage Recipe Categories. Update the Courses, Cuisines, Main Ingredients, and Tags for your account.

  • Duplicate Recipe. Create a copy of the recipe in your Recipe Book, which is handy when you want to try a variation without changing the original.

  • Queued. Toggle on to add the recipe to your Queue, a smaller collection of recipes you want close at hand.

  • Private. Toggle on to keep the recipe visible only to you. Private recipes can't be seen by your Friends in Plan to Eat.

  • Delete Recipe. Remove the recipe from your Recipe Book.

Display preferences

  • Display Units in Metric. Toggle ingredient amounts to metric units across your account.

  • Show Ingredient Amounts First. Put the unit and amount before the ingredient name in recipes (for example, "1/2 cup flour" instead of "flour 1/2 cup").

  • Keep Screen Awake. Keeps your screen on while you view or cook any recipe, so it doesn't lock while your hands are busy.

Use this recipe

  • Add to Planner. Choose a date and mealtime to add the recipe to your Planner.

  • Start Cooking. Open the recipe in Cooking View.

  • Cooking Timers. Set up to 5 timers while you cook. Learn more about using Cooking Timers.

  • Share Recipe. Send the recipe by text or email to someone.

  • Print Recipe. Print a copy of the recipe.
